My friend Mass Medical blessed me with a 100% legitimate Pre 98 Bubba cut in 2022, and I have been working this backcross project ever since. Bubba Kush has always been in my top three favorite cultivars of all time, and this project is about preserving that experience rather than modernizing it.

I chose to backcross using Rare Dankness Venom OG because of how closely it aligns with Bubba in structure, density, and effect profile. The goal was not to reinvent Bubba, but to reinforce its most defining traits while maintaining the soul of the original cut.

This is phase one of a long-term project. Even at this stage, the progeny are showing extremely encouraging results, with many plants expressing traits that closely resemble the mother in structure, aroma, and overall presence. The similarity appearing this early is exactly why this line will continue to be refined over time.

Plants remain short, squat, and dense, with classic indica structure. This cultivar is built for growers who appreciate compact plants, fast flowering times, and true old-school kush expression.

From an effects standpoint, this is real Bubba-style medicine. Heavy, narcotic body effects paired with deep relaxation make this cultivar especially well suited for pain relief, stress reduction, and sleep support.
